The 2008-2009 season marks Kristen's second consecutive year performing with The COT. She is principal bassoon of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts Symphony and Opera Orchestra, as well as a substitute bassoonist with the Charlotte and Winston-Salem Symphonies.

A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Kristen received a Bachelor of Music degree in Bassoon Performance from the University of Kentucky, as well as a Master of Music degree in Bassoon Performance from the North Carolina School of the Arts. She is currently a Performing Artist Certificate candidate at the North Carolina School of the Arts.
