Michael has been with The COT for five seasons, and also performs with the NC Symphony and the North Carolina Jazz Repertory Orchestra.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Michael received a Bachelor of Music Education from McNeese State University, as well as a Master of Music from the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music.

Michael is the instructor of low brass and director of brass chamber music at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
