Dennis has been performing with The COT since 2003. In addition to his work with the orchestra, he was principal trumpet with Orquesta Sinfonica de Nuevo Leon of Mexico, and second trumpet with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra of Alabama. Dennis has also performed nationally with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Erie Philharmonic, Chattanooga Symphony and Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, among others. He currently performs regionally with the Carolina Brass, and freelances regularly with the North Carolina Symphony, Opera Company of North Carolina, North Carolina Theater and the Tar River Philharmonic.

A dedicated educator, Dennis has held teaching positions at St. Augustine's College and Campbell University. He was recently appointed music program coordinator at Johnston Community College in Smithfield.

Dennis earned a Bachelor of Music from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University in Houston, Texas, as well as a Master of Music from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
