A SAFE Return to Live Music
For the safety of all artists, staff and patrons, The COT has put in place a new COVID-19 policy so we may all return to live events in the safest way possible. Please read on to learn about our precautions for ALL of our performances this season.
For all COT 21/22 Season events, guests must provide PRINTED proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72-hours of the event OR PRINTED proof of FULL vaccination prior to entrance to the venue. Electronic documentation (on phones or other devices) will NOT be accepted for entrance into the event. You may present an original vaccine/test result document or a photocopy. At entry, Event Staff will validate your negative COVID-19 diagnostic test results OR vaccine proof. Accepted tests include PCR and antigen COVID-19 tests (at-home COVID tests not accepted) and results must be dated and time-stamped to be valid.
Proof of full vaccination requires the last vaccination dose to be administered at least two weeks prior to the event date. If your dose is from a vaccine series that requires two doses, full vaccination status requirement would be met 14 days after the second dose. For those guests who have only received the first of two doses, proof of a negative COVID-19 diagnostic test will be required and must be taken within 72 hours prior to the event date.
Additionally, The City of Durham requires face coverings to be worn at all times while in all performance venues, except when actively eating or drinking. The Carolina Theatre has also invested heavily in hospital-grade filtration systems, gold-star cleaning methods and contact-less ticket verification systems to ensure the highest safety possible for all attendees.
We sincerely appreciate your adherence to these new policies and procedures to allow all of us to safely enjoy live performances together again. Additionally, your flexibility is appreciated should these policies change based on local guidance prior to or during the season, and any new information will be communicated in a timely manner.
