About
The Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle (COT) is a per-service orchestra and does not guarantee any amount of services. The COT’s 2023-24 Season consists of seven (7) orchestral concerts and two (2) ballets. Season contracts are offered on a year to year basis, and auditions are held prior to every season for available contracted positions, and substitute positions for every instrument. Together with audition results, preference is given to those musicians who can commit to all rehearsals and performances throughout the season.
Rate of Compensation
The COT's rate of compensation is $135 per service, with each orchestral program consisting of a minimum of five (5) services. Travel is compensated for those musicians traveling more than 35 miles away at a rate of .$40 per mile.
Auditions
Auditions will be held at Person Recital Hall on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus on Sunday, August 20, 2023. Audition requirements, materials, and excerpts can be downloaded at thecot.org. For further information please contact Personnel Manager, Erin Munnelly-Denning at personnel@thecot.org.
