Hyeyoung Moon - soprano
Soprano Hyeyoung Moon was born in South Korea. Graduating from Seoul Arts Highschool, she then attended Seoul National University where she studied with professor Professor Mihae Park.
She has already had several meaningful opportunities in her young career. In 2015 she performed in the T&B Summer Festival for Youth with the Philharmonia Seoul Orchestra at the Seongnam Arts Center. She performed a series of Korean Art songs by Kyuyoung Chin in Ufa, Bashkortostan, and also performed on a NYIOP Korea Economic Daily Concert in Lotte Concert Hall with the Hankyung Philharmonic Orchestra.
She has received diplomas from the Mozarteum International Sommerakademie in Salzburg and taken part in Festwochen & Meisterklassen der Accademia Belcanto in Graz, Austria. In 2019, she was selected to participate in the POVAI Vocal Arts Institute.
In 2020 she began her masters degree in The Juilliard School where she studies with Cynthia Hoffmann.
At Juilliard, she has sung the role of heroine ‘Agilea’ in Handel’s Teseo, directed by Stephen Wadsworth and conducted by Gary Wedow. She has also performed in Lincoln Center's Through the Window concert which is part of Lincoln Center's restart project. She participated in Natalia Katyukova’s Liederabend and also a participant in master classes with Michele Crider, Cheryl Studer, Lawrence Brownlee, Isabel Leonard, Barbara Hannigan, and Barbara Frittoli. She is a recipient of the Cecille Weber Memorial Scholarship, the Sabina and Samuel Taranow Scholarship, and the Anna Case MacKay Scholarship.
