The COT's Education Initiatives

Since our 2022-2023 school year, The COT's quartet-in-residence, The Balourdet Quartet, has had the opportunity to establish residency programs with Riverside High School and Jordan High School's orchestra programs. The Durham Fellows have a residency program with Leesville Road High School.
For our 2023-24 Season, The COT began cultivating relationships with local elementary schools in Durham & Orange Counties through our Da Capo program.
The COT's Durham Fellows partnered with Lyons Farm, Central, Southwest, E. K. Powe, Easley, Parkwood, Pathways, Club Boulevard Elementary, and Little River K-8 School for the 23-24 Season. They performed for 3rd graders in classroom settings as well as interactive assemblies, culminating in an Education Concert featuring the whole orchestra at the Carolina Theatre of Durham.
